WWI Model 1916 "Interwar" Austrian (Styrian) Helmet- This example was recently acquired from the world class collection of Canadian Doug Buhler. This Austrian produced helmet features a field grey finish that remains virtually fully intact. There is a small ding in the front, very minor but worth a mention. Hand painted onto the front is a green shield. Inside, the original three pad, brown leather liner with steel liner band is in place. It is excellent with minor discoloration only. These differ from the WWI "stuffed" pads as they are just the thin leather. They have metal eyelets for the leather drawstring which is included. It is a size 66 shell. Also seen is a light tan cloth chinstrap which is complete with its original painted metal buckle. A great example!
