RARE, Very Late War Model 1942 German Army "Double Decal" Helmet-This incredibly interesting helmet was purchased in a barn at an estate sale in Illinois in the early 80's. Originally a "no decal" helmet, the GI apparently grabbed the helmet along with some unused decals to make this example unique. The dark green combat finish is fully intact and both army decals are nearly fully intact. The brown leather, size 56 liner was treated at some point so it is very dark but remains fairly supple with some minor scuffing at the bottom edge. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band that is RBNr'd, dated (1944) and size stamped 64/56. The rear skirt is stamped with the maker info, size and a steel lot number but these are very faint so hard to read. The brown leather chinstrap is a full length example that has always been with the helmet. A very unique example in great condition!
