The blade measures approx. 18 inches (45.72cm) long, with 33 saw teeth on the spine. This was issued to support troops and engineers and was built to fit the 7.5mm Schmidt Ruin M1911 Carbine and K31 Short rifle. The plating on the steel fittings remains 90% intact. They have a natural brushed finish with great toning. The mortise button functions as it should. The wooden grip plates are well worn and show a moderate size chip mid center. The crossguard has a rifle number (not a serial number), 62730. The all-steel scabbard has a natural silver finish that is mostly intact, though one side has some mottling. \u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ePrior to 1938, this would have a leather scabbard, but after ’38 they switched to all steel scabbards. The scabbard throat is maker marked with a small “p” on both the throat and the body. This sawback blade is excellent. It is marked under the crossguard with \"HS\" which stands for Hans Steiner (or Hans Steimer), a maker based in Wasen im Emmental, Switzerland. The blade measures 2 ft, or 24 inches (60.96cm) in length. The blade is approx. 18 inches (45.72cm) long.
