The set provides in-depth study of early high-quality nickel silver\/tombak badges to late-war zinc, including variations with diamonds, cloth\/bullion, and award cases.  It covers the history of the badges, including the early 1933 DLV-era, the 1935 institution, and the 1941\/1942 transitions in materials.
