This is an Iron Cross award commonly known as the "Blücher Star". The Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross was the highest military decoration of the Kingdom of Prussia and the German Empire. It was considered a senior decoration to the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross. The Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to the most outstanding of Generals who performed feats of leadership for the German state. It was awarded only twice, over a century apart, to Field Marshal Gebhard von Blücher in 1813 and to Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg in 1918. This version features a gold plated, eight-point star mounted with the World War I First Class Iron Cross at its center. The Iron Cross is riveted to the vaulted star, which has a wide, flat pin back attachment. The pin is marked for Deschler Sohn. This reproduction features sharp details. This is high quality multi-piece construction. This is beautiful! This is a fine display piece, but is being sold “as is”, and not an original WW1 era original.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1141/9332/files/WW2_German_Iron_Cross_Blucher_Stern_3266.jpg?v=1792583960
https://www.therupturedduck.com/products/the-german-ww1-1914-star-of-the-grand-cross-of-the-iron-cross
