Third Reich Cased Non-Portable Award in Silver for Chamber of Commerce in Sonneberg-This a very classy, fine silver example, which is just about the size of a quarter. It is an award from the Chamber of Commerce of Sonnenberg, awarded for Industrial work in South Thuringia (German: Südthüringen). This award was made by the mint in Bavaria and is beautifully marked on the side. The front of this award shows what appears to be Wartburg Castle on its hilltop, and the reverse is inscribed with the motto “Fur Treue in der Arbeit”. The top lid of the inside case has gilt script that reads “Für Treue in der Arbeit Südthüringenische Industrie-u. Handelskammer in Sonneberg”. Beautiful award.
