Third Reich Forestry Official Grouping-This incredible grouping includes a blouse, trousers, belt and buckle and visor cap. Every piece is in excellent condition. Let’s start with the blouse, which is a high quality, private purchase example produced in super soft green wool. There is one absolutely tiny moth nip in one of the French cuffs. It is spotless clean. There is a four-button closure and all buttons are silver finished pebbled metal. There are four pockets with scalloped flaps. The side and lower edge of each scallop is piped in green. The breast pockets are pleated and the lower pockets are hidden. Each side of the closure seam is piped in green, continuing up to the lapel and ending at the collar. Also piped in green are the tail and the tops of the French cuffs. The green velvet collar is piped at the front and lower edges with a silver bullion twist rope. The dark green badge cloth collar tabs are extremely neatly hand applied. Each is piped in silver bullion twist roe and has silver bullion insignia that includes two leaves and a pair of oak leave sprigs. The sew in shoulder boards have a green cloth braid over a dark green backing. Each has a single acorn. This combination indicates that the wearer was a revierförster, or area ranger. There is a loop for an award on the left breast pocket plus a set for a medal or ribbon bar above. The interior is fully lined in green rayon which is as new. There is a single pocket on the left side. There is a large tailor tag in the neck. The tailor is Meyer & Romer of Frankfurt. The tunic is a size large. There is a correct aiguillette included as well. On to the trousers, which match the tunic perfectly. They are also produced in super soft green wool with green piping. They are straight legged with pleats. There are slash type hip pockets, a single rear pocket with scalloped flap and button and a watch fob pocket. There is a four button fly and a metal hook and loop fastener at the waist. There is a cinch strap at the rear. The inside of the cinch strap has a tailor tag with the date 1938 and the name and rank of the owner, Revierf. Schmidt. All of the buttons for the suspenders etc. are present. The waist is a size 38 and they are 41” long. The belt is a fantastic brocade example with a silver finished aluminum buckle that is maker marked by Assmann. The belt itself shows ever so slight wear, with a few tiny nips to the cloth backing. The size is written on the tongue in centimeters, 85. Last but certainly not least is a truly choice visor cap. This is named (twice inside) to a different official. The cap is produced in green wool that is perfect. The top panel and upper and lower edges of the dark green badge cloth center band are piped in green. The insignia consists of a silver finished metal eagle and a silver bullion wreath along with an aluminum cockade. The chin cord is the correct silver bullion officer type. The visor is black vulkanfibre, shining like new. The interior looks to have never been on a head. The tan leather sweatband is perforated and has the “Stirndruckfrei” pattern embossed onto it. The interior is fully lined in gold rayon. The sweatband has separated in one spot at the front. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield with the maker info on it. It is fully intact. The cap is a large size, 59 or so. A choice set overall!
