Third Reich German Municipal Police Officer Tschako-This has a soft blue green wool covering over a hard-shell body that has extremely minor tracking in a few spots. The top panel and front visor are shiny black with a more matte faded black leather utilized on the rear visor. The clam shell silver metal chinstrap is present, with its leather under strap stiff and the buckle loose. The large two-piece eagle has been modified by removing the central swastika and adding a political type cockade in its place. This is well done and an interesting combination, but no doubt done by a collector. The removable cockade is an enlisted version so a replacement. The interior has the fish eye type liner in gold cloth and a very nice, soft tan leather sweatband. The size is hand written onto the back of the sweatband, 56. The maker tag is inside, attached to the dome. It indicates that this was produced by eReL and describes the cap as a “Fiber-Tschako”. Good condition overall!
