Third Reich Ort Level Political Leader Visor Cap-This example is produced in olive brown, trikot weave wool. It is very clean with only minor wear from use. The blue Ort piping is in fine condition, remaining fully intact. The brown velvet center band is in fine condition. The eagle retains all of its original gilt finish. The wreath, produced in zinc, is missing a majority of its finish. The cockade is a fine enamel example. The chin cord is gold celleon with gold finished pebbled metal buttons. The brown vulkanfibre visor shows fading but is otherwise ok. The underside is orange brown. The interior is fully lined in gold rayon that shows some minor wear only. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield. The maker info is silk screened onto the shield. There is a paper tag inside the slot which has the size stamped in black ink, 55. There is an orange brown ersatz leather sweatband which is fully intact, but it is very stiff and a bit misshaped. It appears that the cap was hung for an extended period of time. The front of the lining is opened up and there is a wire which is looped which I can only assume was to display the cap at some point. Under the sweatband, you will see an oil cloth RZM tag with the maker listed as number 107. A fine example overall!
