Veteran Bring Back Unissued West Wall Medal-These are a very special offering. These were part of the veteran horde removed from the Reichskanzlei (Reich Chancellery) in 1945. I personally purchased these items from the family of an Army LTC, whose name we will provide to the buyer. They told me he was a great person who served with pride during WWII. He had seen a lot of action during the last year of the war and seldom spoke of those times. He did tell his family that he was a liaison officer stationed in Berlin right after the war ended and was able to sweet talk the Russian sentries and get access to the Reichskanzlei building. He was able to pick up over 200 unissued medals such as West Wall, War Merit Crosses, Eastern Peoples medals and Russian Front medals. These medals are unissued and in their original packet of origin, each packet is marked by the maker. The medals themselves are excellent and include a portion of ribbon. We have several of these, and the one you receive will be as good if not better than the one in the photo.

History: The West Wall Medal was instituted by Adolf Hitler in August of 1939 to recognize military personnel, including civilian employees, who assisted in the planning, construction or defense of German fortifications on the western border. The original bestowal of the West Wall Medals ceased as of January 1941. In October of 1944, bestowal of the West Wall Medal was re-instituted as over 200,000 personnel were assigned to strengthen the German fortifications in anticipation of the western allies’ break-through into Germany. The West Wall Medal was only issued in one class.
