Waffen SS Tropical Sahariana Blouse w/Belt and Buckle, Published Set-This exact set, minus the shorts and shirt, is depicted on page 81 of the book “Afrikakorps: Army, Luftwaffe ,Kriegsmarine, Waffen-SS: Tropical Uniforms, Insignia & Equipment of the German Soldier in World War II” by Robert Kurtz. It is an SS contract Sahariana style service blouse which is produced in tan colored cotton twill. There is very minor wear and discoloration from use. It has an open collar prominent shoulder yoke and four patch type pockets with scalloped flaps. It has adjustable cuffs and JFS 42 marked pebbled bakelite buttons. The shoulder board buttons are the standard field grey finished pebbled metal type. The shoulder boards are post war reproduction. The insignia was removed at one time and reapplied post war. The sleeve eagle and chevron are real but nicely reapplied. There are also collector applied loops for two badges on the pocket. The interior is unlined of course. There is a bandage pocket and cloth adjustment ties. The inside is stamped with size information as well as an RBNr. The size is 96 so a medium. The tropical belt is in fine condition. It measures 91 cm in length. The buckle is marked RZM 36/43 SS. The finish is mostly missing and the tongue is missing the end section. A good set and its published!
