World War I Vintage Torpedo/Gyroscope/Ashtray-Another one of a kind item from the Ruptured Duck. Please take the time to look at the photos. This stands approx. 9 ½” high including the match holder, and its approx. 9” wide. The middle sections consist of a cutaway from what we are told is a German World War I torpedo shell casing. The cutaway reveals a very sophisticated gyroscope setup on a wheel that rotates when spun. We were not able to find any markings on the brass section or the internal components. This has been set into a 3 tier well-constructed wooden base; the wood appears to be some type of a walnut. The top of the shell casing has been fitted with a beautifully carved configuration that is an ashtray. The cigarette and match holder are made of a solid brass. This is a heavy item, weighing approx. 8 lbs. It may require additional shipping. A unique piece and perhaps you can tell us what it is!
