WWI Era Small Bakelite Snuff Box-The cover of this bakelite box reads “Schnupf wer will!” which translates to “Snuff for whoever wants it” and under the lid reads “nur nicht alles” or “just not all of it”. (I’m sure this saying makes more sense in German). This box is a red and brown mottled bakelite. The script on the top and under the lid is in gold font. There is a chip out of the back part of the box, by the hinge. Please see photos to see the damage. This box is small, it measures 3 ¼ inches (8.25cm) wide, by 2 inches (5.08 cm) tall, and 1 inch (2.54cm) deep. The lid closes tightly. The inside is clean, though there is a small, very shallow crack on the left side, under the lid. This is a very interesting collectible. This would look great on your desk!
