WWII German Army Artillery NCO Private Purchase Visor Cap-The cap is a private purchase example, produced in soft, smooth field grey wool that is of excellent quality. There is a bit of wear, some minor discoloration and a few absolutely tiny nips to the top panel. The red artillery piping is in fine condition overall. The aluminum insignia retains all of its original silver finish. The patent leather chinstrap has a bit of crazing, as does the vulkanfibre visor. The underside is cross hatched and finished in a green hue. There are a few tears/spots of wear in the green oil cloth sweat band and it is a bit separated in a few spots. The interior is also green, lined in rayon on the top panel and cloth on the sides. The moisture shield is rhomboid shaped and fully intact. The maker info is embossed onto the shield. It reads “Franz Strobl, Ulm (D.” followed by “Stirndruckfrei, Deutsches Reichspatent”. Very good condition overall!
