WWII German Army Cavalry Officer Private Purchase Visor Cap-This is a good quality private purchase example. It is produced in a soft, field grey wool that is in great condition aside from some very minor wear and discoloration from use. The yellow cavalry piping has faded quite a bit. But it is in good condition and complete otherwise. The center band is dark green badge cloth. It too has some fading but is complete otherwise. The insignia is bullion aside from the cockade. It has some wear and discoloration but that all matches the look of the cap. The cockade is aluminum with a red felt bulls eye. There is an officer style silver bullion double chin cord held in place by a pair of silver finished pebbled buttons. The vulkanfibre visor has crazing and fading. The underside of the visor is cream finished but much of this has worn off, revealing the orange brown base color of the vulkanfibre. The interior is fully lined in ribbed gold rayon. It is in great condition with extremely minor discoloration only. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield that is fully intact. The sweatband is tan leather. It has minor wear, scuffing and discoloration but is otherwise fine. There is a reinforcing string running throughout the sweatband. The cap is a size 56. A handsome example overall!
