WWII German Army Infantry Officer Private Purchase Visor Cap by eReL-This unique cap is produced in soft, trikot weave field grey wool. It is in very good condition with minor wear and discoloration only. The owner removed the top stiffening ring so it has a floppy, crusher type appearance, very nice. There is white (infantry) piping around the top panel and on the top and bottom of the dark green badge cloth center band. The insignia consists of a silver bullion eagle which looks to be Italian made with that very thin swastika. This adds to the cool factor of this offering. My good watchdog Nick spotted this and I definitely think it was worthy of pointing out. It also has a silver bullion wreath and metal cockade with red vented bullseye which is a definite eReL characteristic. There is an officer bullion double chin cord in place with two small silver finished pebbled metal buttons. The black vulkanfibre visor is a bit worn but tightly affixed and in good overall condition. The interior is fully lined in green cloth that shows a bit of wear and definitely has a stain. The ghost of the rhomboid shaped moisture shield is visible but the shield is gone. The sweatband is brown leather and in fine condition aside from a very small tear. It is embossed with the eReL Stirnschutz logo. The cap is a size 55. A very good example overall!
