WWII German Army Infantry Officer Visor Cap-This is a very nice example overall. It is produced in field grey, trikot weave wool that is excellent, remaining very clean and damage free. The top panel, along with the upper and lower edges of the dark green badge cloth center band, is piped in white. The insignia consists of a zinc eagle in silver (that appears to have been reapplied but is definitely an original piece), an aluminum cockade and an aluminum wreath, each retaining all of the original finish. There is a silver bulli0on, officer style chinstrap that is in fine condition. The visor is black vulkanfibre and it has just minor crazing. The underside is orange brown with cross hatching. The interior is lined in orange brown cloth. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield with the size, 57, underneath. The sweatband is brown leather that is nice and soft still. The underside is stamped with the maker information, date 1937 and unit info that reads “14./J.R. 107 I”. Excellent overall!
