WWII German Army Model 1936 Panzer Rifle Regiment Officer Tunic-This is a great looking tunic. It is produced in a high quality, soft field grey wool. There is extremely minor discoloration and a few extremely tiny moth nips. There are four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps. There is a six button closure and all buttons are silver finished pebbled aluminum. Each side of the closure seam, the front and lower edge of the dark green badge cloth collar and the top of the French cuffs are piped in pink piping that is excellent. The collar tabs are pink badge cloth with bright silver bullion columns. The sew in shoulder boards are bright silver flat wire with pink badge cloth backing that doubles as the piping. There are a few moth nips in the shoulder boards. Each has a single gilt finished metal pip, an “S” cipher and the number “3” cipher. This indicates that the wearer was an oberleutnant (1st lieutenant) who was a member of a panzer rifle regiment. The officer breast eagle is beautiful silver bullion with bright silver highlights over dark green wool. There is minor damage to the eagle on the right side as viewed. It is neatly hand applied. There is a ribbon for the EKII. There are loops for a single badge and a small ribbon bar. The interior is fully lined in grey green cloth. It is in fine condition with minor discoloration and a few very small nips. There is a single pocket on the left side. There is a strap and slot for an edged weapon (the strap we believe was post war added). The tunic is a size medium. A fantastic looking example!
