WWII German Army Mountain Trooper Visor Cap, Named-This summer weight cap is for other ranks mountain trooper. It is a private purchase example that shows a lot of use. The owner removed the stiffening rings so it has the look and feel of a crusher. The field grey wool body has some minor tracking to go along with some wear and minor discoloration. The grass green piping is for gebirgsjäger personnel There is a dark green badge cloth center band that is in fine condition. The insignia is silver finished aluminum. Aside from some minor discoloration, the insignia is in great condition. The chin strap is black patent leather. There is some crazing. The black vulkanfibre visor shows minor wear only. The underside is finished in the standard orange hue; it is crosshatched as well. The top panel of the interior is lined in ribbed gold rayon. There is a lot of wear and discoloration plus some missing material. The sides of the interior are unlined. The moisture shield is diamond shaped. It is mostly intact. It was produced by one of the many cottage industries contributing to the war effort. The slot has a name tag that reads “Oberjäger Kramer Eduard, Stabsabt. II./Gb. Jr. R. 140”. The cap is a size 55. A desirable piece!
