WWII German Army Officer Side Cap-This is a salty dog! It is beautifully made with excellent quality materials but it has significant moth damage throughout the exterior. The front scallop and top panel are piped in a silver aluminum mesh. The eagle is silver flat wire over green and the cockade is the officer style with silver bullion. There is a soutache of dark green so we assume this is for military administration (militarverwaltung). There is a single ventilation grommet on each side. The interior is fully lined in gray cotton. It has some discoloration and wear. It is ink stamped with the size 54. There is a partial brown leather sweatband that is still. A war relic!
