WWII German Army Panzer Officer Visor Cap by eReL-This private purchase cap features a field grey, trikot wool body that is in great condition. The stiffening rings were removed to give it the crusher look and the chincord was removed to make it look like the old style caps. It looks great to us! There are a few absolutely tiny nips to the top panel only. The pink piping retains nearly all of its vibrant color. There are a few tiny nips in the piping. The center band is dark green badge cloth. The eagle is silver finished aluminum. One of the prongs is missing so it is a bit loose. The wreath is matte bullion and the cockade is zinc, missing the finish. The wreath is not sewn, rather it is held in place by the cockade prongs. it is tight but give this we believe that the insignia has been replaced. The vulkanfibre visor is lightly crazed and faded but otherwise fine. The underside is crosshatched and finished in an orange brown hue. The interior is fully lined in light green rayon. There is minor wear and discoloration only. The rhomboid shaped moisture shield is in fine condition, remaining fully intact. The nomenclature for the maker is clearly seen. As mentioned, it is eReL. It has the eReL Sonderklasse logo inside the diamond with the model, Extra, just below inside a rectangle. The sweatband is grey leather. It is excellent and is super soft. There is an old German newspaper or book page folded up and shoved underneath the sweatband. The cap is a size 56. A great piece overall!
