Someone tried to remove the paint at some point, no doubt to see if there were any decals underneath the finish. The finish still remains partially intact. The interior features a brown leather liner that has minor wear and discoloration from use. It is a size 59 and features a zinc liner band that is maker marked, dated 1941 and size stamped 66\/59. The side of the interior is stamped ET 66 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 66. There is a lot number stamped into the rear skirt, this reads 512. There is a brown leather chinstrap that is very stiff but complete. It is marked but I cannot read it.
