WWII German Luftwaffe General’s Visor Cap-This is about as rare as they get! It is produced by eRel and it is a “Privat” model. It is of course of a truly excellent quality. The blue grey wool body is very clean. There is some wear from use plus a few small nips, one to the top panel and one to the underside. The gilt aluminum mesh piping is seen around the top panel as well as the upper and lower edge of the ribbed black center band, The eagle is gold bullion with a gold flat wire swastika. This is over a blue grey wool backing and it is very neatly hand applied from behind. Same for the winged wreath, which is also gold bullion with silver bullion cockade. The chincord is gold bullion with some minor toning. The buttons are gilt finished pebbled metal. The black vulkanfibre visor has some minor wear, fading, and indentations from the chincord. The underside of the visor is crosshatched and finished in the green hue often seen. The interior is fully lined in light green rayon. There is minor wear and discoloration plus a small tear. The rhomboid shaped moisture shield is in fine condition, remaining fully intact. The nomenclature for the maker is clearly seen. As mentioned, it is eReL. It has the eReL Sonderklasse logo inside the diamond with the model just below inside a rectangle. The sweatband is tan leather. There is some minor wear and discoloration plus a small hole. It is super soft. The cap is a size 58. Spectacular!
