The rough texture, blue grey finish remains 90+% intact. The Luftwaffe decal remains 90+% intact as well. The tan leather, size stamped 61 (BIG!) leather liner is in great condition, with just minor wear, scuffing and discoloration from use. The soldier added a War Merit Medal to the D bale for the chinstrap, pretty cool. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band that is maker marked, dated 1942 and size stamped 68\/61. The side of the interior is stamped ET 68 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 68. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 1823.
