WWII German Luftwaffe Model 1940 Single Decal Helmet, Brought Home by US Chaplain-This came to us from the grand nephew of the US Chaplain who brought it home. He told us that he used to wear it to school (in the 3rd grade) until his mother found out about it. He hid it under his bed for years! It has a rough texture, blue grey combat finish that is mostly intact. Inside is a brown leather, size 55 liner that has just minor wear and discoloration. There is a zinc liner band. The side of the interior is stamped SE 62 indicating production by Sachsische Emaillerwerke in the size of 62. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 1485. A great example overall!
