WWII German Luftwaffe Officer Visor Cap-This private purchase cap is produced in blue grey wool that is very soft. There are some spots of discoloration, some wear and a few holes in the top panel. The peak is very high and slightly swept back. The wire stiffeners have been removed so the cap is very flexible. The ribbed black center band is in fine condition. The piping is silver aluminum mesh. The insignia is all bullion and flat wire. It is in good condition, with some wear and powdering mostly to the winged cockade. There is an officer type bullion double chin cord. It is the larger type. The black vulkanfibre visor shows minor wear and some fading. The underside is green. The interior is lined in brown rayon and cloth. There is minor discoloration and wear only. The moisture shield is missing. The sweatband is brown leather and still very soft. It is maker stamped “Qualitat”. The top panel is maker stamped “Pekuro” which is the acronym for Peter Kupper. The cap is a size 56. A nice example overall!
