WWII German Luftwaffe Operational Flying Clasp for Reconnaissance, Air/Sea Rescue and Meteorological Squadrons in Silver-This desirable award (“Frontflug-Spange für Aufklärer) is in silver and was awarded to personnel involved in Reconnaissance, Air/Sea Rescue and Meteorological Squadrons who completed 60 successful missions. The clasp features an eagle’s head (burnished finish missing) with a large eye encircled by a laurel leaf wreath with a swastika at the bottom. On either side there is a series of oak leaves. There is a small hole in the eagle’s head. The pin is tapered with a square wire catch which is soldered directly onto the badge. The badge is produced in tombak with a nickel silver finish. The reverse is maker marked JMME & Sohn Berlin. Despite small hole, still a great looking badge!
