WWII German Model 1935 Army Double Decal Helmet-This is a bit of a strange one! It has a very dark green finish which is painted around the decals. There are black stripes and tape marks visible. It is some sort of camouflage for sure. The tri color shield and army eagle decals are both mostly intact. The size 55 liner is very dark but still soft (probably was treated a long time ago). There is wear and a few tears. There is a reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1939 and size stamped 55. The rear skirt has a very interesting size stamp in white ink, 54/55 which is of course the size the liner is (or could have been as 54 as well). The side of the interior is stamped SE 62 indicating production by Sachsische Emaillerwerke in the size of 62. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 3575 indicating production in 1939. A very intriguing example!
