WWII German Navy Officer's Brown Leather Great Coat- Highly unusual to encounter one in this configuration as it is made of a fine quality brown leather material with a light tan fleece lining. This has a double set of three buttons in the front as well as the smaller style shoulder board buttons along with another pair of buttons at the cuff. These are all brass colored Navy anchor buttons. They appear to be reapplied and not all the button manufacturers match. The external condition of the leather is very sound with what you would expect to encounter for a garment made of leather that is over 70 years old. These were often seen being worn by naval officers including U-Boat commanders, in fact there is a famous Willrich portrait postcard showing U-boat commander XXX wearing an identical jacket. This was found in Norway, so I am very comfortable with the source. The interior has two leather reinforced pockets. I did not see any markings what so ever. It is approximately a size 42. I will call this overall very sound condition with no tears or repairs!
