WWII German Waffen SS Combat Buckle-This is a steel example that retains approx. 80% of its original finish. The steel beneath has toned to a nice gun metal gray color. The obverse depicts an SS eagle with an outstretched tongue and wings clutching a centrally placed wreathed static swastika in its talons. The eagle is above the SS motto: "Meine Ehre heißt Treue!" which is in front of a pebbled background that is surrounded by two twisted ropes in a circle. This is all on the smooth rectangle field. This has strong details to the eagle, wreath and motto. This is an unmarked example and it is textbook in every way. A very sound wartime example!
