WWII US M-1 Helmet, Named-This is a front seam, fixed bale example by McCord. The finish is mostly intact. The liner is by Firestone. The OD 3 fixed chinstrap on the shell shows some minor wear and discoloration. The buckle and clip are steel with a black finish. The heat stamp is 656 B. The owner wrote his first initial and the latter part of his ASN in bold red script on the inside of the shell “F 7777”. He also added a red stripe to the front brim. The liner is missing most of its finish. The green OD 3 suspension has minor wear and discoloration. The sweatband is discolored but complete. The owner wrote his name and ASN onto the sweatband, J. Franke and 32857777. The nape strap is torn but it also has the owners ID, “F 7777”, written on it. The brown leather chinstrap is present with minor wear. A very nice example overall!
