German WWII HJ Knife w/Motto by Anton Wingen-This is a sound example. The fittings retain approx. 90% of the silver-plated finish. The black checkered grip plates are excellent but could use a cleaning. We shall leave that up to you. The enameled HJ Diamond is also very good, though there some very slight darkening to the red enamel. This is not a distraction. There is a slight crack to the lower portion of the diamond, so please be sure to look closely at the photos. The steel scabbard has lost the majority of its original black finish and has a light coating of rust. I would call the scabbard in “as found” condition. The leather buffer is missing under the crossguard. The blade is in sound shape. It has been shortened, which means some of the motto has been removed as well. The reverse shows a deep, and nice clear RZM code M7/51 for the maker Anton Wingen with the date 1938. The brown leather retaining strap has been lost along the way. Again, a sound example that would make a good placeholder, especially with the motto.
