Die Deutsche Polizei-This is a very scarce 1943 pocket calendar for the Gendarmerie. Please note that this little booklet has had all of the swastika’s blotted out either by pencil, a hole or pen. We are unsure why or when this happened. This book would be for police, constabulary and administrative officers. This is an exceptionally nice, little-used example of the rare circa 287 page heavily illustrated Die Deutsche Polizei Taschenkalender 1943 (German Police Pocket Calendar 1943) as published by order of the Reichsführer-SS and Chief of German Police in the Nazi Ministry of the Interior, Heinrich Himmler for the Kameradschaft deutscher Polizeibeamten by Verlag Deutsche Kultur-Wacht in Berlin, Germany. The small 4-inch (10.16cm) by 5 ¾ inch (14.605cm) Nazi police pocket calendar starts with an essay by Von SS-Untersturmführer Heinrich Gaaese. The book contains so much information on housing work allowances, payroll information, NSDAP organizational charts and more. This book has no illustrations like other years, but again, it’s full of information. The book itself is in great shape. The softcover looks great, the binding is tight, and the pages are very clean. Someone who owned this book in 1943 has made some handwritten notes on a few days in May but that just means that someone actually used this book as intended. A great even without the swastikas
