German WWII Allgemeine SS Rank Collar Tab-This fancy collar tab would be worn by an SS-Obersturmbannführer in the Allgemeine-SS, which is equivalent to a senior field-grade officer rank such as a lieutenant colonel. This is a rare find. I need to tell you that the pips on this collar tab have been replaced. They are original to the period, but not original to the piece. The pips retain nearly all of their original silver finish. The black wool badge cloth on the tab is very good. This is trimmed or piped in a silver and black twisted piping which is loose at the sides, so please be aware. The two silver tresse rank bars at the bottom are excellent. The reverse side shows the buckram stiffener, which has darkened from age. Overall, this is very good and a collar tab we just do not see very often.
