German WWII Latvian Volunteer Sleeve Shield-This patch is for the 15.Waffen Grenadier Division-(Lettische nr. 1) and 19.Waffen Grenadier Division (Lettische nr. 2) of the SS. This sleeve shield would be used by the Latvian “volunteer” members of these two Divisions. It is in the pattern of the old Latvian flag, and is a machine embroidered white diagonal bar on a red field with “Latvija” written across the top, all on a black wool background. This example is very clean, with a small spot of discoloration to the white on the reverse. A very good display example!
