German Water Police Protection Dagger by Eickhorn- Very rare offering as this is the first example I have ever owned. This has solid brass hilt fittings which show excellent detail. The blue leather handle has some scuffing and is missing the police insignia, but you can see where it was. The brass plated scabbard is the lightning bolt style, and if you rub your hands along the lower portion of the scabbard, including the sides, you can feel a few indentations where the scabbard came in contact with a door or other object. The double engraved blade is the fouled anchor style found on Eickhorn navy daggers. There is some rust up near the button area right near the cross guard where moisture got near this blade. This example has the stylized 1935/41 Eickhorn squirrel logo. Locking mechanism works perfectly. This is complete with a properly tied navy knot showing light wear in all the right places. Extremely rare offering.
