German WWII Combat 98K Bayonet by Holler-This is a totally untouched, uncleaned matched set complete with brown leather frog and retaining strap. The hilt has a nice dark tone and has the waffenamts in all the right spots. The dark brown ribbed bakelite grips are in very good condition. The mortise button works as it should. The scabbard has a light coat of rust that may clean up should you choose to do so. The scabbard is marked with a serial number 582. The scabbard, other than showing the coating of rust, is undented. The blued blade is very nice. It is nicely marked with the matching serial number 582 on the reverse, with the obverse being marked FZE 42, this being the code for F.W. Holler. The leather frog remains soft and pliable and could use a good conditioning if you want to spruce it up a bit. The retaining strap works well and still has the original closing stud in place. This is a nicely matched set.
