German WWII Ground Röhm SA Dagger by F Dick- This is a good-looking early example of a totally ground Röhm. The brown wooden handle has toned to a nice warm brown color with nice wood graining showing. The nickel silver eagle and the enameled SA runic button are very good. The eagle has a shine to it that is quite handsome. The enamel on the SA button is intact, and very clear. The button is excellent. Both the eagle and button are a tight fit to the handle. The plating on the crossguard and pommel are mostly intact and have a matte tone that looks very good.  The handle is nice and tight as well. There is a SA gruppe mark “Nm” marked on crossguard, and this would be for the district of Nordmark, which is north near Hamburg. The dark brown annodized scabbard is very good with the finish being 90% in place, though there is some crazing throughout, and a few scuffs. The fittings are a nice tone, one that complements the dagger fittings. The ball on the tip is slightly flattened and has a moderate dent. The blade itself is in very nice condition; the obverse has the motto deeply etched. The reverse shows where the dedication was enthusiastically removed. You can see the F. Dick logo just below the crossguard. This example comes with a brown leather hanger plus an early “D”-ring leather hanger and a belt loop hanger. The nickel silver snap clip functions as it should. The leather hanger is excellent with the leather remaining soft and supple, the leather has not faded or cracked at all. Overall, it is a near excellent example of a desirable ground Röhm.
