German WWII Luftwaffe Officer’s Sword by SMF-This is an early example in nickel silver. It measures approx. 34 inches (86.36cm) long. The nickel silver had toned to a dark color on the pommel cap. The gold gilt in the early mobile swastika on both the pommel and the crossguard is 95% or better. The details on the crossguard are very good. The blue Moroccan leather grip is in very good condition and shows only light wear on the reverse. The silver wire grip wrap on the blue Moroccan leather handle is in place and overall, it has toned but is in very good condition. The Moroccan blue leather of the scabbard shows a few scuffs and some light damage closer to the tip. The aluminum scabbard fittings show a few dents, and some discoloration but are overall in good shape. The blade alone measures approx. 26 inches (66.04 cm) blade and shows the SMF Knight logo and waffenamt on the reverse under the crossguard. The blade itself is in very good condition. Overall, this is a desirable example.
