German WWII Red Cross Hewer-This is a handsome example of the desirable DRK Hewer. The nickel-plated fittings have an even patina and have a pewter look to them. The Red Cross eagle emblem is excellent. The top of the pommel shows some light discoloration. Both grip plates are in very good condition. The black leather buffer is still in place under the crossguard. The scabbard retains 90% of its original black enameled paint with a few minor scuffs. The blade is not just mint, its choice mint! It is highly polished, and you can still see the factory cross graining. This blade is unmarked, as are most, and is excellent.
