German WWII SA Dagger by SMF-If you are a new collector and are looking to add an SA dagger to your collection, this may be a nice option for you. This is an RZM example, so this would be made in or after 1938. The brown wooden handle is free of damage and has a gorgeous brown tone. The nickel silver grip eagle and enameled SA button are a nice tight fit to the handle. The eagle has a nice matte silver tone, and the enamel to the runic button is nice and clear but be aware that the enamel has a spot of damage to the upper right side. To the right side of the “A”. This is not a huge distraction as the blemish blends into the enamel of the “A”, but we want you to look at the photos. The platting on the fittings is mostly missing on the lower crossguard. The nickel has a natural silver finish that is roughly the same color as the grip eagle. The dark brown painted scabbard is very good with the finish being 90% in place, though there is some crazing throughout, and a few scuffs. The fittings are a nice tone. The ball on the tip is nice and round and undented. The blade is good. The obverse has the motto “Alles fur Deutschland” deeply etched. On the reverse, is the RZM Code M7/9 logo for SMF which is a popular maker. The blade does have some runner marks but is overall in good condition. This is a very sound example of an SA dagger that would make a fine example of an RZM made dagger.
