German WWII Senior Forestry Officials Cutlass-This is a handsome example. It is untouched and remains exactly as we received it. It has a solid brass “D” guard with the clamshell, and the stag leg crossguard. This brass still has that shiny tone to it. The leather buffer is in place under the crossguard. The white celluloid handle with the three brass acorns on each side is also in very good condition. These three acorns show excellent details. The black leather scabbard has solid brass fittings that nicely match the brass on the dagger fittings. The scabbard leather is fully intact and shows only a scuff just below the top fitting on the obverse. The brass fittings are very good, though the lowest fitting shows some scattered verdigris. The triple engraved blade is something to see. It is in excellent condition; the engraving of the hunting scenes is deeply etched and easy to see. This blade is not maker marked and is excellent. This comes complete with a brown leather frog, and the original green and silver bullion properly tied portapee. This is a beauty.
