Imperial Boar’s Head Short Sword-This measures a full 28 ½” in length and considering its vintage which is identified as 1868 it is very collectible condition. The highly detailed steel fittings on the hilt show a boar’s head pommel and a dogs’ head cross guard. This has a deeply toned stag handle and a clamshell attached to the cross guard. The black leather scabbard has plain steel fittings which have some discoloration. The blade is beautifully marked on the back strap identifying the unit and the date of 1868. This is another example of which I have never encountered in the past.
