German WWII Gas Mask Can and Mask-This is the full ensemble. This can retains 80% of its original army green finish. There are a few rust spots coming through but this is not a distraction. The canvas strap is in place but has been repaired. There is a cut to the canvas strap, with the repair being done on the leather reinforcement. The can is not marked at all, but someone has etched the initials FK into both the top of the can, and the very bottom. There is a painted number 621 on the top of the can, just under the lid. This mask has a set of extra lenses under the lid. The mask is produced in heavy duty green rubber. The base of the mask retains its original finish, though it shows some scratches, you can still see the maker mark of Fe, and the date 41. The base of the mask is marked with mwg, which indicates production by Märkische Walzwerke GmbH, a well-known wartime manufacturer located in Strausberg near Berlin. The canister itself retains all of its green paint, but this appears to have been touched up. It looks good. The lenses on this mask are dirty, though have a yellow tint. They do not show any major scratches. Both lenses are dated 1944. Overall, this set is in very good condition!
