German WWII Original Relic Dak Afrika Korps Tropical “Coconut” Canteen-Wait until you see this beauty. This canteen has an aluminum body, with pressed wood covering giving this the look of a coconut. This was made by the manufacturer Heinrich Ritter, Esslingen a major producer of military canteen flasks and mess kits. You can see the handsome textbook makers mark on the back, D.R.G.M HRE 43. This canteen has tan canvas straps that are in very good shape. The fittings retain the majority of their original paint. The steel cup is in place and marked HRE 43 which matches the canteen. This cup retains the majority of its green paint. The red enamel paint inside is excellent. This canteen is excellent.
