German WWII U-Boat 7x50 Binoculars-These are made by the company of Zeiss located in Jena. They are fixed focus Navy conning tower type of binocular. They are very well marked with the maker code “blc 750” and serial number. The optics are in perfect condition. These have the original rubber covering to fit over the top of the body. This remains soft and supple and is not dried out. There are multiple splits in the leather at the ends by the body but they still fit very tightly. This set retains the majority of the ordinance tan paint on the body, as you can see in the photos. There is a leather strap on the rear of the binoculars that has broken. This has a name scratched into the paint, it is difficult to make out. There are several places where there are the initials MK scratched into the paint. You can also make out a partial name, Capt. McKaig. The optics on this set of binoculars is excellent! Great for bird watching, though your arms get tired after awhile, since they are heavy. This is a terrific set.
