Imperial Standarte in Miniature-This handsome piece measures approximately 8"x10" excluding the gold fringe which is an additional 1 1/4". I believe this would have stood on a table being reserved for members of one of the regiments named after Frederick The Great. That is the intertwined FR in all four corners. The flag is made of a fine cloth and silk with beautiful combinations of blue and white panels. You can see all the details that have been added to the flags with crowns and wreaths along with the center motif of the handsome Prussian eagle and the scroll in Latin "For Glory for the Country". The reverse is a blue silk panel with the name of Infantry Regiment 158 (good research project). That has a replaced section of silk at the bottom of the panel that measures approx. 2" x 8". It matches pretty well and was done a long time ago. There is also a separation on the top section that will be obvious in the photo and a few slight tears.  The standarte would have been suspended with a pole stand to sit on a table. There is a gold bullion twisted rope edging on all four sides which has an additional loop where the cross member of the pole would have gone. This will look great in a display. One of a kind!
