German WWII Army Combat Buckle w/Leather Tab-I’m not sure the photos will do this buckle the justice it deserves. This is a one piece stamped steel example of an army combat buckle. The finish is mostly missing on the obverse of this buckle, but the steel has toned to a smooth brown color, that give this buckle a very interesting look. You can see some of the original green finish remaining in portions of the details, especially to the edges of the wreath. The details to the wreath, eagle and motto are very good. More of the green finish remains on the reverse. The brown leather tab is still soft and supple. The tab is maker marked and dated. It is difficult to make out, but the date appears to read 1941. This is a handsome buckle.
