WWII German Army Cavalry Model 1935 Officer Tunic-This is a private purchase example that is produced in a high quality, soft field grey wool. There is some fading, discoloration and wear. It is the old style with an 8 button closure. All buttons are nickel silver finished pebbled metal. There are four pockets with scalloped flaps. The breast pockets are pleated and the hip pockets are internal. Each side of the closure seam is piped in golden yellow piping. The dark green badge cloth collar has a pair of hand applied tabs of golden yellow with gold bullion/flat wire litzen. The sew in shoulder boards are toned silver flat wire over golden yellow badge cloth. Each has a single pip and the number 11 ciphers. This is for a cavalry oberleutnant. The breast eagle is handsome, toned silver bullion over faded green badge cloth. It is hand applied. The left sleeve has a hand applied Kuban campaign shield. The interior is fully lined in green rayon that has some minor discoloration and wear from use. There are a few small tears. There is a waist belt with a plated metal buckle. It is a size medium.
