German WWI 1914 Black Wound Badge-This is the stamped steel example of a WWI wound badge. Notice there is no swastika on the helmet. This shows wear, and finish loss to the highest details of the obverse. This badge retains the majority of its black finish in the lowest areas of the badge. The remaining steel has a handsome charcoal gray color, that blends nicely with the black of the badge. This really does have handsome details. The reverse of the badge shows light rusting. The pin setup functions as intended. Overall, a good example.
